DONOSTIA
SAN SEBASTIÁN

A modern city where you’ll find a wide variety of activities all year round. Donostia, the Basque name for San Sebastian, is considered to be one of the world's most beautiful cities. Famous for the quality of its beaches and above all for its excellent gastronomy, we’re in absolutely no doubt that you're in for a pleasant surprise if this is your first visit.

San Sebastian is easy to get around. You can practically walk from one end of the city to the other. In the city centre you’ll find all sorts of different shops, with both traditional options and the famous brand names. You can also enjoy its buildings taking their inspiration from the Belle Époque style in 19th century France.

The Pensión Aia is in Gros, one of San Sebastian’s liveliest districts, which also has its own beach: "La Zurriola”.

WHAT TO SEE

If you stay at the Pensión Aia, you’ll be close to one of the city’s most iconic areas. In Gros, our district, you can surf all year round, attend any of the conferences or concerts in the Kursaal Auditorium (a 5-minute walk away), or head for the Old Town to eat in one of the more traditional restaurants and tuck into the famous 'pintxos'.

On the far side of the Old Town is the Marina, the world-famous La Concha beach and the Aquarium, not to be missed. And don’t forget to visit the “Wind Comb” sculpture, work of Eduardo Chillida.

DDepending on the dates of your visit, you can go to the Film Festival, the Heineken Jazz Festival, the Classical Music Fortnight, or to a Real Sociedad football game.
